Need some trees? Need some plants? It's time for the Fall Plant Swap/Plant Sale this Saturday, October 23 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Turtle Park on E. Morningside
Bring plants to swap. Plants will also be available for purchase.
State Forester Paul Johnson and Brownsville Forester Eddy Kuprel will be there to answer questions.

Oh so THAT'S what happened to the lot behind you. Gee, I was slow on the uptake. Gosh, that sure looks like "grubbing, clearing, and levelling" to me! Darn psychopaths, they have no absolutely idea how to build to blend in with the local flora.

You know, since the Town required new construction buildings to be at least 5 feet above street level, something like that, you're going to see more and more clear cutting like this.

Then they'l bring in huge dirty trucks that if it rains, track mud everywhere and dump this poopy clay stuff down from Fresnos or somewhere. I think the technical name for the elevation-rising material is called "Shapoopie."

Little by little, the elevation of our Island is being artificially raised by developers who need 5 to 8 feet above street level. The Tepaguage and native grass and dune stands will soon be completely gone.

Isn't there something we can do? Elevating lands leaves older, lower property more probable to become wetlands. That is not good. /Sam
